Chartwell Law is seeking a marketing specialist who will be responsible for contributing to the firm's marketing communications and business development efforts.

Reporting to the chief marketing officer and director of client relations, the marketing specialist will support the implementation of the practices' business development, marketing, and communications plans and will be expected to coordinate day-to-day activities. The marketing specialist is expected to maintain positive working relationships with vendors and serves as backup to other members of the marketing team as needed. Candidates must be self-motivated and detail-oriented, committed to excellence in the workplace, and have outstanding organizational skills.


  • Draft and assemble pitch materials, presentations and RFP responses.
  • Develops and maintains mailing lists, contact lists, and client profiles through the use of the firm's database and CRM rollout.
  • Prepare and post client alerts, announcements and other updates for distribution by email and to the website. After each campaign, analyze statistics of readership.
  • Assist with background research on prospective company clients and competitors.
  • Write and edit internal and external communication pieces, such as: article abstracts for the website, social media pages and articles for the internal e-newsletter.
  • Update practice-specific marketing collateral, biographies and practice descriptions
  • Assist with the collection of data and preparation of submissions to legal directories and managing the project timeline.
  • Coordinate logistics for practice-specific events, speaking engagements, seminars and webinars.
  • Develops speaking and authorship opportunities with professional and trade organizations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


A Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications or a related field and a minimum of three years of relevant experience are preferred.  Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a professional environment.
Excellent writing skills and proofreading skills are required.  Please provide a writing sample and salary requirements.
